What does YOUR avatar mean?
Well, the title says it all. There's a lot of interesting Avatar pictures on this forum, and I'd like to know where you got it from / what it means / what it is that is depicted / etc.
Mine is a detail from a drawing StarrTheInsane made for me in my artwork contest some while back. I got many great entries, and this one won, so I cut out my main characters and made this avatar ^^
Post everything, even if it's simply a screenshot of your GW character, doesn't matter. If it's a well known comic/cartoon/anime/movie character: no matter, pop-culture differs a lot from continent to continent, and something familiar to Americans can be unfamiliar to Europeans.
PS: oh, and perhaps explain why you chose that particular image?

The Laughing Man, the mysterious case that is investigated in the first series of the anime Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex. Somewhat inspired by a few stories from Salinger. A hacker of a new kind, akin to what Kusanagi becomes at the end of the first movie, an electronic being (some modern scientists would call this a "singularity") that exists in the vast net of 2020+.
EDIT: my avatar is the logo that the Laughing Man projects onto people's faces when they're hacked (yeah in 2020 your eyes are computer screens )
(the hero-villain of the second series, Hideo Kuze, is more interesting, but less visually intruiguing...)

My avy doesn't mean anything. It's a self portrait of me in Obama's hope poster style, that I did in Illustrator. Well, I just want people to know that I'm the dude s well.

It's a Mr. Saturn from Earthbound - although I would hope the majority of people that play games would know that....

I always use this avatar
that was my dog bobo's tail. and then one day I saw a print ad on a random ad blog page, if not mistaken, it was a series of friskies cat food. if not mistaken the taglines is get friskies or something, and then I saw that butt.
the butt of a pug stuck in the doggy doors and the cat walking away. so i thought i'll look for a bobo's butt and paint one on it as well, but can't make it as cute as this one. so. i crop the advertisment and made it into my avartar.
yes i play the sims
attached is a picture of bobo eagerly running out the backyard door with his teddy bear ... i miss him.
